Presentation on the Alford Manor House restoration project by Alford Town Council
Our first project will be the restoration of the cemetery chapel featured throughout the site, and this continues to move forward. Only the lease needs to be agreed between both parties and we are currently awaiting first sight of that document, it is hoped the terms will be acceptable to both parties. The intention of the Society is that the building will be restored and again be suitable for use as Chapel and Columnbarium, there will also be a Book of Remembrance.
If you wish to become a member of the Society, please use the links page to email your request for further information, or download the membership application form. perhaps you would like to be an integral part of the Society and serve on a sub-committee, involved in one of our planned projects?
We envisage the Society fulfilling a number of roles within the town, and we are currently forming a sub-group to conduct a survey of the town’s buildings, in order that we can update, and encourage the enlargement of, the current conservation area. Contact has been made with S.K.D.C. who are supportive of the project

We feel that other concerns currently being addressed within the town will fit under the auspices of the society, and look forward to co-operation with these groups. If you have a group that you think will benefit from being members of the Society, please contact us to discuss this.
Have you got old photos or information relating to the chapel?  We will gratefully receive such items, and assure careful handling and return of any items sent to us.
